Sammis Law Firm named as a Favorite Place on Google

Sticker with bar code sent to Law Firm from Google

We were excited to get a letter in the mail from Google which informed us that we were named as a “Favorite Place on Google” because of the traffic on our local business listing on Google Maps. The letter came with a window decal for the front door which highlighted a bar code. Apparently, local customers can use their smart phone to scan the bar code and instantly deliver contact information, reviews, and other details about our law firm.

Special thanks to Internet LAVA for setting up and optimizing our local business listing on Google Places. We tried to set it up and then got so frustrated we made them figure it out for us. Our internet marketing guy, Jason Miller, really helps his clients (he only works with marketing law firms) set up those business listings on maps. For those brave attorneys that want to do it yourself, read more about Tips to Optimize Your Law Firm’s Local Business Listing on Google Places.

Unfortunately, no one in the firm can figure out how to use the bar code with our cell phone just to test it out. Either our phones are not smart enough or you need some special application. I need to find a 13 year old to show me how it works.

Thanks Kenneth. I need some special application on my iPhone but haven’t got around to it yet. But once Google makes this thing a little easier to use, I can certainly see how convenient it would be to download information about a business after scanning a code. One day we’ll get it figured out!
