Florida Highway Patrol DUI Arrests in Tampa Bay

Troop C of the Florida Highway Patrol, which covers Hillsborough County, Pinellas County, Polk County, Citrus County, Sumter County, and Hernando County, Florida, just released information showing the number of arrests made during the New Year’s period from December 31, 2008, to January 4, 2009.

Troop C of the Florida Highway Patrol investigated 233 crashes including five vehicle crashes with fatalities and twenty-eight crashes involving DUI.

During this time period, the Florida Highway Patrol Officer arrested 45 drivers for drunk driving or driving under the include (“DUI”).  More than 960 speeding tickets were issued.

    The statute of limitations is coming up for a case of mine, I am wondering if I wanted to sue the FHP troop C and an officer for false arrest and negligence, do I send the fla stat. 768.28 presuit notice to the Troop C headquarters? any information would be helpful thanks
